Church and school links
Hill Top is a Foundation Status, Church of England Primary School. Our church school is a proud member of the Diocese of Leeds and is central to the heart of the community it serves. Our close relationship with Holy Trinity Church, The Salvation Army and The Zephaniah Trust are integral to our commitment to provide a holistic education that nurtures both academic and spiritual growth.
Our children visit Holy Trinity at various times during the course of the school year. We visit to support or follow up work we are doing in our Religious Education Curriculum, and to celebrate special Christian events such as Harvest, Easter and Christmas. We also support a variety of events that take place at Holy Trinity including the Spring Fayre, Carol Service and Mother’s Day Service. Members of the Salvation Army and Zephaniah Trust regularly lead acts of Collective Worship in school.
Rooted in the Christian values; perseverance and endurance, peace, hope, compassion, service and community, our school is committed to providing a nurturing environment where love comes first. It is the foundation of who we are and all we do.
We teach children to love first; 'Love your neighbour as yourself.' Mark 12:31 and to show love in their words and in their actions, treating everyone with dignity and respect.
Our school fosters not only a love of learning but also a spirit of understanding, compassion and cooperation among children and adults of various backgrounds and beliefs. We embrace diversity and instil respect for other faiths through our curriculum and the enrichment opportunities that we provide for our community.
As a church school, a member of Holy Trinity represents the church on our Board of Governors. She is known as a Foundation Governor and is Mrs. Liz Flintoft. It is her role to support the Christian ethos of the school and support the school in its planning, delivery and monitoring of Collective Worship.
